The Amazing photography of Gary Bendig

photo by Gary Bendig and used here with permission

Last night Jonathan and I had the privilege of attending the artist’s reception in honor of Gary Bendig’s gallery exhibit Life at The Edge of The Forest.  Amazing is the word I always use to describe Gary’s nature photography but also appropriate would be beautiful, gorgeous, stunning, incredible, and awe-inspiring.  I can’t think of a better way to spend an evening than enjoying good conversation and great art.  The reception was lovely with fall centerpieces and a leaf motif, including a leaf ice sculpture to hold beverages.  (I have got to throw a fall party so I can have that.)  While enjoying  a spread of hors d’oeuvres and desserts the guests were entertained by a harpist.  For me the highlight of the night was getting a first hand account of how Gary captured some of our favorite images.  Thank you Gary, for an amazing, beautiful, gorgeous, stunning, incredible, and awe-inspiring evening.

The exhibit, which includes 27 of Gary’s nature photographs from Indiana and Ohio will be on display at the University of Findlay’s Gardner Arts Pavillion until October 31.  For those in the Toledo area it is worth the short drive.  A portion of the profits from the gallery sales will go to benefit ACRES Land Trust a non-profit organization responsible for protecting natural lands in the area.  For more information on the exhibit or to make a purchase visit Kohne’s website.
